The Junior Sailing program at HHYC offers our members and the surrounding communities a sailing program for children ages 8-14.
We are unique among clubs on the Long Island Sound as we provide our Junior sailors with club boats.
We employ instructors who are U.S Sailing Level 1 certified, have powerboat licenses and are CPR – Red Cross trained.
We are affiliated with the Junior Sailing Association of Long Island Sound (JSA) and follow its guidelines.
Our mission is to provide children with the opportunity to learn to sail and give them a life long love and respect for the sport of sailing. We gear our instruction towards learning good sportsmanship, navigation, safety, racing tactics, respect and fun. Our program includes not only a fun filled summer of sailing and swimming, but also racing in local regattas.
